Back to Basic

What is China Soaring Crane Qigong (CSCQ)?

CSCQ is the phase 1 of PIQ (Precreation Integral Qigong). CSCQ is mainly kinetic in nature and made up of the following components:-

(1) The 5 Routines (Foundation)
(2) The Remedial Routines
(3) Crane Walking Steps (Entry)
(4) Standing Meditation
(5) Wisdom Tapping & Sight Improvement Routines

For the batch who joined us last October (batch 0519), the 5 routines and the remedial routines are almost completed. What are pending for them are the mental focus for the 3rd, 4th and 5th routines and their associated explanations. After which, there will be many weeks of revisions and movement tunings before they are taught the Standing Meditation.

What is standing meditation? We will do a slide presentation to explain it when the time is ripe. The explanations may span over few nights. It is never our intention to do too much explanations within too short a period as the capability to understand varies from person to person.

What are the requirement and conditions for standing meditation (SM)? We list them as below:-
i. Understand the positions of the Acupoints and Channels correctly.
ii. Understand how to use the “Remedy Routines”.
iii. Know precisely the control of mental thought (imaging).
iv. Be familiar with the 13 Rules & Regulations set by the China Soaring Crane Qigong Association (we have shown this to you before and there will be revision on this)
v. Understand the words: “Hao Liao Qi Gui Dan Tian” (we will tell you what they are before you do SM).
iv. 17 instructions for the Standing Meditation (we will tell you what they are before you do SM).

Please be reminded that those who are suffering from various mental sicknesses, especially mental disorder or hereditary mental illness are not advised to take up this practice (SM). In order to qualify for this training, the trainee should have practiced the “5 Routine” at least 50 hours or above. This is to prevent anything going astray so as to safeguard the interest of both the practitioners and CSCQ. A simple test may be conducted before you do SM.

Now appear the question of how to ensure that you have at least 50 hours of practice of the 5 routine. A very positive , safe and sure way is to obtain them from the attendence that you have marked. Our practice is for each time that you present, we consider that you make 1 hour. Please remember to mark your attendance everytime you attend.

You are also not advised to do SM on your own without the prior consent of the trainer.

From our estimation and the way things go, the batch 0510 will be able to do SM in about 3 months' time.

What is more important? To learn Qigong or to practice Qigong? In our opinion, the later is more important. You only will be able to benefit through the practice of Qigong. Of course, you will have to learned it correctly before you can practice effectively. It is quite disheartening to note that more than 60% of practitioners (hope this word can still be used to describe them) left the station after they joined. Some left berfore the completion of the basic course - phase 1. Some left after they felt that there is nothing more to learn. Others may have other reasons such as "no time lah", "not effective lah". Whatever the reason may be, we do hope that they continue to practice it on their own. Please note that the more you practice, the more benefit you reap. The less you practice, the less benefit you reap. You will not benefit if you do not practice.

Well , the important thing is the practice. The benefit of group practice can be up to 7 times as effective as you practice alone. Do come to the station and practice even though you feel that there is nothing else to learn. Qigong is a vast and deep topic and one can never finish learning it.
